For the past ten years we have established a performance record as money managers, outpacing the S&P 500 index by an annual average of 4%. While we are proud of this success, we have learned over the past three years this performance is meaningless without an investment goal and more importantly a plan to reach that goal. This is most noticeable with the individual investing for retirement.
